ANA HOLDINGS' "ANA Future Frontier Fund" Invests in
KitchHike, Supporting Japan's Families and
Communities
TOKYO, April 16, 2025 - ANA HOLDINGS INC. (ANA HD), through its corporate venture capital (CVC) fund "ANA Future Frontier Fund L.P.", today announced its investment in KitchHike Inc. ("KitchHike"), operator of "Japan Preschool Exchange" program. This investment reflects the growing need to address childcare and diverse learning challenges faced by urban dual-income families.
While urban dual-income families are facing increasing childcare difficulties, modern education now emphasizes non-cognitive skills alongside cognitive abilities, fueling the need for nature-based and diverse learning experiences. This demand is further complicated by demographic shifts. As urban preschool populations rise due to rural migration, rural areas simultaneously face sharp child population decline. This population imbalance widens the urban-rural gap and leads to low nursery occupancy in depopulated regions.
ANA HD's investment in KitchHike supports the company's services that address the evolving needs of families raising children. Through this investment, ANA HD will fully support KitchHike's "Japan Preschool Exchange" program, aware of its potential to broaden access of enriching early childhood experiences for communities across Japan.
KitchHike's "Japan Preschool Exchange" offers one- to two-week child-centered stays in rural areas, allowing children to attend local nursery schools while their families work and experience regional life. The program, launched in 2021 in Hokkaido, fosters early interaction with nature, supporting child development, and strengthens local economies by building lasting family relationships. The "Japan Preschool Exchange" currently spans more than 50 locations nationwide, serving 2,000 families (more than 6,000 people). KitchHike will utilize funds from ANA HD to strengthen its team, systems and marketing initiatives to further expand its reach.
