ANA and Alitalia Sign Commercial Partnership Agreement
TOKYO/ROME, March 23, 2018 - All Nippon Airways (ANA) and Alitalia, today announced that the two carriers signed an agreement to establish a commercial partnership.
From October 28, 2018, the two carriers will commence codeshare (*1) operations on Japan=Italy routes as well as domestic routes within Japan and Italy.
In addition, ANA and Alitalia will cooperate also on frequent flyer programs mutually giving reciprocity access to their members and activating mileage accrual on codeshare routes and mileage redemption on the partners' network.
Both carriers acknowledge the Japan=Italy market to be important as the travel demand between Japan and Italy is steadily growing. The cooperation among ANA and Alitalia will expand the network between Japan and Italy, which will benefit customers by providing them with greater choice and flexibility. The two airlines plan to further grow the commercial cooperation by including further codeshare routes in near future, thus strengthening the bridge between Japan and Italy.
