here is a message from the DEI team.
As an airline, the desire to connect people is in our DNA. In order to do so, the focus is to bridge our differences.
Since its birth in 2020, the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) department has been working to create a safe and welcoming workplace for all. The team celebrates individuality by encouraging dialogue, and their diligent work has resulted in six consecutive “Gold” ratings in the PRIDE Index by “work with Pride”, a Japan-based nonprofit organization.
To create a more LGBTQ-friendly work environment, ANA Group recognizes same-sex partners of employees as spouses and offers a counseling service with trained professionals. One of the Group companies has started allowing employees to use aliases in case they do not feel comfortable with their gender-binding given names.
The Group is also introducing more gender-neutral bathrooms and changing rooms for employees.
"Here at DEI, we believe being LGBTQ+ is one of the factors which makes us who we are," said Manae Takahashi, of DEI. "Through communications and outreach activities, we wish to impact company policies and how each employee recognizes the LGBTQ+ community. It is our ultimate goal to contribute in building a society that welcomes and respects diversity."
