ANA Holdings Selected as Sustainability Award
Gold Class 2019 – for Two Consecutive Years!
ANA Holdings Co., Ltd. was selected as the highest Gold Class rating for the second consecutive year in the Sustainability Award 2019 conducted by RobecoSAM,(*) an international investment company which assesses companies in sustainability.
Each year, RobecoSAM evaluates corporate sustainability based on three factors -- economic, environmental, and social criteria -- and assigns Gold, Silver, and Bronze ratings to companies that have a particularly strong track record. In 2019, they evaluated approximately 2,700 major companies (in 60 industries) from around the world.
On July 4, an award ceremony was held in Tokyo, attended by twenty Japanese companies that were selected as Gold, Silver and Bronze ratings. ANA Holdings received a commendation as one of five Japanese companies selected as Gold Class, particularly for our efforts in developing human resources, responding to human rights issues, and improving customer satisfaction.
In receiving the award, Yutaka Ito, Executive Vice President of ANA Holdings, Inc. said, “Our company is aiming to become the world's leading airline group with safety as the foundation of our management. We believe that it is our responsibility to contribute to achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) toward the year 2030, and we will also continue to promote Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) management. To achieve this, active dialogue with stakeholders is of utmost importance. We will continue our commitment to undertaking appropriate communications and information disclosure while working together as a Group with initiatives to increase corporate value."
We were also selected for the second consecutive year in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index of socially responsible companies, which was created jointly by S&P Dow Jones Indices and RobecoSAM, as well as being selected as the highest rated Industry Leader in the Airlines sector for the second consecutive year.
The ANA Group will continue to grow sustainably with society and continue our contribution toward creating a brighter future as our management philosophy.
